implemented many information systems to make our

We
first started using computers at ABC in 1978.
Today more than 30% of our offices are fully
computerised and have Internat access. Most of
the other offices are also connected to the web
through local cyber cafes. |

ABC's
central EDP center is in Kolkata and is equipped
with a HP-Server and several terminals. Down the
line, all the Regional, Zonal and Project
offices have a LAN environment. The controlling
centers have Internat capable stand-alone
machines. |

All
our computers run ABC's in-house software, the
Integrated Field Processing System(IFPS). This
software assists us in Operations, Accounts and
Payroll generation and gives us MIS Reports. |

Our
first Web site was hosted in 1996 at a time when
few other Indian organizations of our size had
an Internet presence. Our present website aims
to provide a dynamic and resourceful
communication tool between our customers and our
personnel. |
